Balsam RED is rich in herbal ingredients, essential oil extracts, hypericum perforatum, ganoderma lucidum mushroom, lemongrass, tea tree, and oregano. These essential oils have antiseptic and healing properties, strong anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects, and have been used since ancient times to heal wounds, fight skin diseases, and improve blood circulation. They help relieve and speed up recovery after insect bites, skin wounds, sensitivity, or skin conditions caused by microbes or fungi. The combination of plant extracts can help in the rapid regeneration and renewal of injured skin tissues.


In many studies, St. John's wort extracts have shown antibacterial and healing effects. St. John's wort derivatives with hyperforin as the main ingredient are widely prescribed in Russia after being researched and found to be more effective than sulfonylamine which is used against Staphylococcus aureus infection. Also, a German preparation in the form of an ointment showed antiseptic action and reduced the healing time of 1st degree burns to 48 hours, while 2nd and 3rd degree burns healed three times faster than classical treatment methods and without the creation of post-burn scars. St. John's Wort has antibacterial properties against Bordetella pertussis (causes whooping cough), Staphylococcus aureus(causes skin infections and ringworm), shigellae and E.coli(enterobacterium, causes UTIs).

Ganoderma lucidum (G. lucidum, Lingzhi), is a type of mushroom with various bioactivities. It has recently been revealed to improve skin quality and treat skin diseases. Traditionally, polysaccharides and ganoderic acids have been reported as the major functional metabolites of Ganoderma possessing antioxidant and anti-inflammatory functions. Based on research and studies, Ganoderma extracts, such as Ganoderma polysaccharides, have been used in promoting skin wound healing, mitigating postburn infection, and preventing skin flap ischemia-reperfusion injury. Ganoderma extracts have also been used in skin care, because of their beneficial roles in skin photoaging and skin whitening. It shows dermo protective effect and anti-inflammatory effect in atopic dermatitis and cutaneous sarcoidosis and potential use in skin carcinoma.



Lemongrass essential oil has several benefits for the
skin. It exfoliates the skin and removes impurities, it tightens skin pores, it treats acne and other bacterial infections on the skin, it reduces the oily appearance of the skin without stripping essential moisture and it has anti-inflammatory and anti-fungal activity.



Tea tree oil (TTO) is an essential oil, steam-distilled from the Australian native plant, Melaleuca alternifolia. It contains active ingredients like terpinen-4-ol and 1, 8-cineole. Terpinen-4-ol is a major TTO component that exhibits strong antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties. Tea tree oil exerts antioxidant activity and has been reported to have broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity against bacterial, viral, fungal, and protozoal infections affecting skin and mucosa. Several studies have suggested the use of TTO for the treatment of acne vulgaris, seborrheic dermatitis, and chronic gingivitis. It also accelerates the wound healing process and exhibits anti-skin cancer activity.



Oregano oil benefits for the skin include fighting bacteria, fungi, and infections thanks to its antibacterial, antifungal, and antiseptic properties. It contains two components, thymol and carvacrol, that are effective against skin infections. It reduces inflammation and soothes inflammatory conditions such as psoriasis and eczema. It has anti-inflammatory properties that can help to calm the skin. Oregano essential oil promotes healing and prevents premature aging of the skin. It has antioxidant properties that can protect the skin from free radical damage and stimulate the regeneration of skin cells. Due to its strong smell, it repels insects and prevents insect bites and can also help heal the bites.
